Pinups and nutz....I mean Cherry's?

This was brought to my attention in a convo earlier and now
I'm just curious
What is our obsession with cherries? Has anyone ever noticed it looks a bit familiar?? Call me crazy but it looks like two nutz?
Do two cherry's have any meaning?
Do cherry's signify your virginity?

What do you like about about Cherry's? The fruit, clothing? anything Cherry

To me they're special because Vancouver is full of cherry trees..you can get em for free on any street. And it's so beautiful in the spring with all the cherry blossoms.

But yeah...Don't know where the cherry/rockabilly thing started that would be interesting to find out...
