So, before this whole "PL site crash" thing, I wrote this extremely long and elaborate blog talking all about my surgery and how much my mom helped me. This is a great way to pay her back - the prize is a trip and a shopping spree, something we both desperately deserve :)

And the fact that it's Victoria's Secret is really special to us. The condensed version:
Both my sister and I turned to plastic surgery to correct breast deformities. We both went to the same plastic surgeon who is very highly renowned and specializes in corrective/reconstructive surgery. My sister's surgery went great (hers was about 5 years ago), but mine didn't (mine was about 8 months ago). One of my incisions became infected and split open - I was really weak and sick for a long time. And my mom was there for me every step of the way. (She even changed my dressings for me twice a day - even at camp haha... but that's another story). After that healed things still weren't right and I was really frustrated and refused to even think about my boobs. My mom tried to help me get past it by pushing me to go buy bras, I always refused because it was easier to just ignore the problem. She always tried to coax me with a beautiful Victoria's Secret bra of my choice but I always said no.

Well, I started college and shut myself down emotionally and suppressed who I was because I didn't want attention. I am really outgoing and fun - but I tried to stay really quiet and fade away because I didn't want anyone knowing about my "condition." It was really hard to live like that.

Anyway - one day, I was in the mall, and it finally just clicked. I told myself that it was ridiculous to live this way - I was miserable! So it was finally time to do something about it. In that moment, I miraculously just let everything go (see "Happy" blog lol) and was unafraid to live my life. My breasts still aren't "right," but I've finally pretty much moved on emotionally. It no longer controls my life and I'm even open enough to tell everyone about it (something I wouldn't have ever DREAMED of just a few months ago).

That day, I went into VS and bought a beautiful bra there - then called my mom of course haha. It's like my little trophy to myself. I've become somewhat obsessed with that store. Anytime I go in there or use one of their products it's a great reminder of how far I've come and how much I've overcome. And even though things still aren't healed (which is very very frustrating) and I may have to have more work done, that store reminds me of that day when I let everything go and how great it felt. So VS has a very special place in my heart.

And my mom has helped me so much through this - Before, during, and after surgery. I had so many meltdowns. I was a wreck!! haha :) and I could never express how much my mom means to me and how much she was there for me. But this seems like a great way to thank her. I seriously wrote the LONGEST blog of my life giving the full story lol - but that was the night of the big crash lol :) I was too frustrated to rewrite it all lol
