serious hair S.O.S. crisis!!!!

I am having my hair cut short (shoulder length) and dyed red on Saturday! I am also getting it styled, but I don't know what to do! My hair is ew thin and I need help from you hair gurus out there: what hair cuts/styles look nice with med-short, on the thin side, red hair? Ideas? I'm nail-biting!

Permalink Reply by Miss Cryss on May 6, 2009 at 8:30pm: Are you currently blonde? Be careful going from blonde to red, especially if you've been using bleach on your hair. Your stylist should probably use a color filler first. A filler creates a base and allows the color to distibute evenly. When your hair is bleached, it is very porous; this means it will soak up all of the color and appear vibrant at first but this desired color will slip right back out and leave you with wash out color. There are also some color saving shampoos which actually deposit color into your hair to keep your color looking amazing. For instance, I use a purple based shampoo to keep the yellow out of my hair which gives it that great platinum color. ArTEC has a few good ones; just ask your stylist for a recomendation.

As far as style goes..... for thin hair, I recommend layers....long or short, it is up to you. Layers help to create volume and body. If you like volume at the crown, then go for long layers, with a few shorter layers just at the crown.

I love it! With your color though, ArTEC is really good. As far as the shorter hair thing...... I would die to have your long hair! But I guess it grows....lol. Just remember that as a model your options will be limited with shorter hair. Glad I could help you! :)

The good thing about them is if you dont have the thickest hair in the world, your hair can still look really full, as there is not lots of weight on the ends pulling it down.

I love them.... but I must admit Ive had long hair for ages and would be really nervous about cutting it.

Well, I also do have my own wig business so I am lucky I have wigs on tap if I fancy a new look.
