Tell us about yourself and why you belong on PL.

I have been interested in anything retro, vintage, old-hollywood glamour, etc. since I began high school. I have had an interest in old movies long before that because of my mom, and have always wanted to imitate the old hollywood starlets' class and style. Throughout much of high school, I could be found wearing any corset-like thing I could get my hands on and a pair of high heels. Red lipstick was a must, sometimes accompanied by an artificial beauty mark in the style of Dita von Teese, my hero. My friends and I would experiment with practicing burlesque, following Dita's lead, and taking cheesecake pinup photos (we attempted anyways) and sharing them on Myspace. Many of my friends had little interest in these things until my enthusiasm wrapped them up as well. Now that I am in my first year of college, I still haven't "grown out of" my interest in pinup modeling and burlesque, much to my mother's dismay. I want to become more serious about pursuing pinup modeling and eventually burlesque, because although I would love to get my degree and have a steady, reliable job, I just can't give up on my dream.
