Born and raised in New York City , Pin-up artist Derek Santiago studied at Fashion institute of Technology with a BFA in Fine arts.
He has been featured in numerous art shows on the East coast and has over a decade of experience in illustration, textile and graphic design, advertising, fashion art,cartooning, comic book art, and animation for clients like Levis, Heineken, Coors Brewing Company.Target, Mattel, DC Comics, Marvel Entertainment, Hasbro,WWE, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon and many many more.
Being a lover of old craftmenship and all things vintage over the past few years his focus has shifted from commercial jobs to vintage pin-up artworks often drawing inspiration from a wide spectrum of sources calling himself a "cultural remixer." making classic bombshell beauties with a futuristic treatment.
He currently runs his pin up portrait business over at Riceandbeanz.net as well as a few fashion companies such as FrankieBabywear.com.

- I dig the cultural diversity and the new school retro vibe PL represents. No snobs here.
I am an accidental pin-up artist born and raised in New York City with a BFA in Fine Arts from Fashion institute of Technology.
I've been featured in numerous art shows on the East coast and have 17 years of experience in illustration, textile and graphic design, advertising, fashion art,cartooning, comic book art, and animation for clients like Heineken, Coors Brewing Company.Target, Mattel, DC Comics, Marvel Entertainment, Hasbro, WWE, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon and many many more.

dear mr santiago, your work is awsom and varry individulized for the times i am guesing that is traditional air brush it is hard to tell theas days with ability of the mighty PC .??I am am a old arbrush artist from way back (LIKE 1979BACK) i do pin up in the 1940's tradition.. i have not posted eny yet but thear on the way ,any way hats off to you and your work,P.S i like the bio ......fan me if you will
